Improving services supporting transitional periods and equality in education
The actions taken in accordance with the specific objective will help to ensure the full implementation of the youth guarantee and the education guarantee and to ensure more effective completion of vocational and university studies and access to the labour market. At the same time, the participation of underrepresented groups in education opportunities will be increased. The purpose of the actions is to put methods and services supporting transitional periods in education and working life on a more effective basis. These include information, advisory and counselling services, teaching arrangements, study processes and actions strengthening study capacity and motivation and measures supporting employment at different education levels. When the measures are planned and implemented, consideration will be given to the different starting points of women and men. Interaction between education and the workplace will also be enhanced and the working life skills of students will be improved by various means, such as apprenticeship training, workshops and entrepreneurial training.
Improving the availability and quality of education in growth sectors and sectors affected by structural change
The actions taken in accordance with the specific objective will promote the amount and quality of the education offerings meeting the needs of growth sectors and sectors affected by structural change. At the same time, the skills of the working population and the unemployed will be improved. The purpose of the actions is to develop flexible study and degree paths tailored to individual needs so that the rapidly changing skills requirements can be met. Adult education will be developed as a tool for improving skill levels and, if necessary, for vocational reorientation, with the help of such means as flexible education paths based on working life, pedagogic methods suited for adult education and diverse and innovative learning environments. The measures will also strengthen cooperation between education institutions, higher education institutions and working life. The challenges of structural change will be met by supporting joint development activities in different sectors, multi-sectoral skills networks and product and service development. The actions taken in accordance with the specific objective will also support smart specialisation of regions with the help of methods strengthening education and skills.
Funding may be granted for
- actions in which the focus is on assistance and enhancement of transition from youth education to training or the workplace
- the development of methods increasing the interaction between education and the working life, including apprenticeship training
- increasing the basic skills, professional skills and training alternatives of adults and special groups (such as immigrants, the Roma, people with disabilities or partial working capacity and various types of students)
increasing the educational offerings in which consideration is given to the skills needs related to the smart specialisation of regions and the needs of growth sectors and sectors affected by structural change as well as improving the applicability of education
